The season is already over for the 27-year-old.
That’s what it’s regarding
Ski racing driver Erik Arvidsson hates grosses Pech.
He suffered a serious injury before his first appearance in the World Cup.
This means the season is already over for the 27-year-old American.
For US ski ace Erik Arvidsson, the season is over before it has even begun. There should have been two races for the speed specialists in the World Cup so far – but the downhill runs in Zermatt were both canceled due to bad weather. Now there are two downhill runs and a Super-G coming up in Beaver Creek this weekend. These will take place without the 27-year-old Arvidsson – just like the entire season.
The American fell during unofficial training for his home race in the US state of Colorado. He suffered a serious knee injury in the fall. The diagnosis: cruciate ligament tear.
Tviberg suffered a similar fate
For Arvidsson, the World Cup winter is over. The American is no stranger. In 2021 he finished eighth in the Saalbach-Hinterglemm downhill, his best World Cup result. In total he made it into the points six times. The racing driver wrote on Instagram: “I’m going to miss these guys like hell this year. It breaks my heart that I tore my cruciate ligament and lateral ligament on the last day of training before the start of the World Cup season.”
Various ski stars such as Aleksander Kilde and Mikaela Shiffrin reacted to his post. They wished him a lot of strength and a good recovery.
Just a few days ago, ski world champion Maria Therese Tviberg experienced something similar. The Norwegian suffered a knee injury in the giant slalom in Killington and also had to end her season.
