The State Department commented on Russia’s note, which was sent to Washington following US President Joe Biden’s statement regarding a sharp increase in the range of weapons that will be supplied to Ukraine.
“Russia’s statements regarding the risks of increasing the supply of US military aid to Ukraine will not force Washington to change its position on this issue,” the US Foreign Ministry noted.
Earlier, the Washington Post reported that the United States intends to supply Ukraine with drones, coastal defense armored vehicles, 155-millimeter howitzers, man-portable anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons. The Russian note to this noted that the supply of such “most sensitive” systems exacerbates the conflict and can cause “unpredictable consequences.”
According to WP, Moscow warned Washington that US and NATO deliveries to Ukraine of “the most sensitive” systems aggravate the conflict and might cause “unpredictable consequences.”
In total, the United States must provide Ukraine with additional military assistance worth $800 million.
