Second, participation in the Russian defense industry following divorce

Attention is drawn to the background of the US adding the eldest and second daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin to sanctions on the 6th. The U.S. Treasury Department believes they were actively involved in managing Putin’s hidden wealth, estimated at tens of trillions of won.

According to the British daily The Guardian, Putin married in 1983 and had two daughters with his ex-wife, Lyudmila Putina, 64, a former flight attendant, who divorced in 2013. His eldest daughter, Maria Vorontsova, 37, is leading the national genetics research program with billions of dollars in funding from the Kremlin. She is a pediatrician who majored in biology. Her husband Yorit Dasun, a Dutch businessman, is known to be close to Putin’s aides.

Second, Katerina Tikhonova (36) majored in physics and mathematics at St. Petersburg State University and Moscow State University, respectively. She also has an unusual career, where she finished fifth at the 2013 Swiss Acrobatic Rock and Roll Dancing World Championships. She is the son of Nikolai Shamalov, a close aide to Putin and co-owner of Bank Rossiya, whom she married in 2013 and she divorced in 2018. She is known as Katerina and she is currently involved in the Russian defense industry.

In 2020, Putin said, “It’s fun to talk to my grandchildren, but for security reasons I won’t reveal my family.” Putin is said to have four underage children, including two daughters and two sons, with Alina Kabaeva, 38, a former rhythmic gymnast. Kabaeva and her children are living in a Swiss villa, the New York Post reported.
