Just over twenty-four hours before Tuesday, November 5th, the race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump remains seemingly inconclusive, at least according to the latest polls from last week.
Why are elections always held on a Tuesday?
As history goes, in 1845 Congress passed a federal law designating the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November as Election Day. In the early 1800s, most citizens worked as farmers and lived far from their constituency.
Citizens had to travel at least one day to exercise their right to vote. Most of the citizens were pious and on Sunday, which is a day of worship and rest, they went to church, while on Wednesday, they sold their products in the big cities. Since citizens could not travel on Sunday and Wednesday, then this meant that elections could not be held on Monday or Thursday.
And so Tuesday was seen as the most ideal choice. But why early November? And for that there is an explanation.
The reason the particular Tuesday “after the first Monday” was chosen each November was so that it would not coincide with November 1st. This day was considered inauspicious because some Christians honored it as All Saints’ Day and also because merchants usually took the first day of the month to settle their financial books for the previous month.

The 2024 United States presidential election will be the 60th presidential election of the United States of America, and is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Voters in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. will choose electors in the United States Electoral College, which in they shall then elect the President of the United States and the Vice President of the United States for a term of four years respectively.
As for the President, the US Constitution states that he must be at least 35 years old, a US citizen and born there (hence the accusations against Obama by his political opponents that he was not born on US soil) and he must also reside in the US the last 15 years before his election. The term of office of the President is four years, and he has the right to re-election only once, i.e. a maximum term of 8 years.
The Presidential election will take place at the same time as the Senate, House of Representatives, gubernatorial, state legislative and various state and local elections and referendums.
Electors from each state meet in December in their state and officially vote for President and Vice President. These votes are sent to Congress, where they are officially ratified in January 2025.
The official count of electoral votes takes place during a joint session of Congress, usually in early January. At this meeting the result is officially announced and the winner is declared the next President of the USA.
The new President will take office on January 20, 2025 with an inauguration ceremony in Washington.
In summary, the 2024 election will be decided based on the number of electors each candidate wins, with the goal of reaching 270 electors.
Key swing states that will give the candidate victory include Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The campaign’s main issues are abortion, border security and immigration, climate change, democracy, the economy, education, foreign policy, health care, and LGBT rights. The winners are expected to be sworn in on January 20, 2025, as the 47th President and 50th Vice President of the United States.
Candidates for the presidency must be nominated by one of the various political parties in the United States, which usually select the candidates through primaries. Primaries are usually conducted by an indirect election process, in which voters elect their representatives (from a party’s list), and they in turn elect the candidate to represent the party in the presidential election. The presidential candidate must choose a running mate for the vice presidency to form the party’s list of candidates, which must then be ratified by the delegates. In November’s general election the election process is indirect, and voters elect the members of the Electoral College, the electors who elect the president and vice president by direct election.
If no candidate receives the required 270 electoral votes needed to win the election, then the United States House of Representatives will designate one of the three candidates who received the most electoral votes as president, and likewise the United States Senate will choose the vice-president by majority criteria.

Adsbygoogle js
It looks like you’ve shared a segment of JavaScript code related to asynchronous loading of scripts for various advertising and tracking services, such as Google AdSense, OneSignal, Disqus, and others. However, it seems that parts of the code are incomplete and may have placeholders or comments that need to be filled in.
Here are some suggestions to improve the code and complete the missing parts:
1. **Complete Script URLs**: Ensure all asynchronous script loading functions have valid URLs or paths. For example:
“`javascript
asyncLoadScript(‘https://path/to/your/script.js’);
“`
2. **Commenting and Cleanup**: Check and clean up any commented-out code or placeholders to improve readability.
3. **Error Handling**: Consider adding error handling around your asynchronous script loading to manage any potential issues during load. You could use `.catch()` on promises if applicable.
4. **Centralizing Script Loading**: If you have multiple scripts across various sections, you might want to centralize the loading logic for better maintainability.
5. **Formatted Strings**: Make sure to concatenate or template strings properly. For instance:
“`javascript
s.src = `https://example.com/script.js`;
“`
Here’s a refined version with placeholders filled in and structured better for readability:
“`javascript
} else {
document.querySelectorAll(‘.adsense-for-mobile’).forEach(function(e) {
e.querySelector(‘.adsbygoogle’).remove();
});
}
const adSenseSlots = document.querySelectorAll(‘.adsbygoogle’);
if (adSenseSlots.length > 0) {
adSenseSlots.forEach(function(e) {
// logic for handling AdSense slots (e.g., initialize ads)
});
}
// Phaistos Adman
window.AdmanQueue = window.AdmanQueue || [];
AdmanQueue.push(function() {
Adman.adunit({ id: 338, h: /* height value */ });
});
// OneSignal
window.OneSignalDeferred = window.OneSignalDeferred || [];
OneSignalDeferred.push(function(OneSignal) {
OneSignal.init({
