Tel Aviv: US President Joe Biden will visit Israel today to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid the Israel-Hamas war. Biden is the first world leader to visit Israel since the start of the war. US foreign affairs sources said Biden would announce solidarity with Israel.
The hope is that Biden will take action to end the Israeli blockade of Gaza. Meanwhile, buildings in Gaza have been razed to the ground by continued attacks. More than 100 people were killed in the southern city of Khan Younis and the Rafah border. Many places do not even have the facility to evacuate hundreds of people trapped between buildings. The Gaza Interior Ministry also said that more than a thousand bodies were trapped in the buildings.
Electricity and water only for 24 hours
Gaza has only 24 hours of water, electricity and fuel left, the World Health Organization’s regional chief said. In an interview with AFP, Ahmed al-Mandhari, regional director for the Eastern Mediterranean, told AFP that doctors would have to prepare death certificates for patients if aid was not granted.
