US President Joe Biden, whose wife Jill has tested positive for COVID-19, will wear a mask as a precaution even though he underwent a new test on Tuesday which turned out to be negative, the White House announced.

The 80-year-old head of state, who also tested negative on Monday, “has no symptoms,” said presidential spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre.
The First Lady has contracted COVID-19, but has only mild symptoms of the disease.
However, Joe Biden was with his wife on Monday and “he will wear the mask when he is inside and around people” in accordance with the health regulations in force, added the spokesperson. “The president will take off his mask when a sufficient distance separates him from others, inside and outside.”
Ms Jean-Pierre did not provide any specifics on whether or not the president would wear a mask at the upcoming G20 summit in New Delhi or on the White House’s possible plans if Joe Biden tests positive before or during the trip. .

Jill Biden, 72, has “only mild symptoms,” according to her office. She lives in the couple’s private residence in Delaware (east).
She had already been declared positive for COVID-19 a year ago.
