A senior White House official has assured Pakistan that US President Joe Biden understands the threats facing the country and is committed to working with the country to counter these threats.
At a news briefing in Washington on Wednesday afternoon, the White House’s National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby, called for restructuring and increasing the capacity of multilateral development banks such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. He also highlighted the American efforts.
He said that President Joe Biden will discuss various proposals with the G20 leaders in New Delhi at the end of the week.
“We know these institutions are the most effective forum for transparent and high-quality investment in developing countries,” said John Kirby.
He added that for this reason, the United States has supported ongoing efforts to increase the capacity of these institutions so that these institutions can face the challenges of the coming time.
Meanwhile, when he was reminded that in October last year, President Joe Biden called Pakistan one of the most dangerous countries in the world citing the presence of nuclear weapons without an effective system, John Kirby explained that the US Why so worried about Pakistan?
He said, “We know that the people of Pakistan are vulnerable to the threat of terrorism, especially because of its border with Afghanistan, and we work closely with Pakistan to help address security threats to our people and our borders.” Will continue to work for as long as he deems fit as this is not a minor risk.
Highlighting the seriousness of the threats facing Pakistan, John Kirby said that the people of Pakistan are still in great danger, the US President understands this and is committed to continue working with Pakistan.
He disagreed with the opinion that America left weapons and equipment worth about 7 billion dollars in Afghanistan and now militant groups are using these weapons against Pakistan.
He said that the American forces left no equipment behind, when we completed the evacuation effort, there was very little equipment and aircraft at the airport, but when we left, they were all unusable.
“Actually, we only had some mechanical things at the airport like tow trucks, ladder trucks, and some firefighting equipment that the Taliban could use,” he added.
John Kirby explained that the equipment that some were saying the Americans left behind had been handed over to the Afghan National Security Forces before the US withdrawal.
He added that when the Taliban advanced across the country, government Afghan forces dropped those supplies, not the US.
On the question of whether President Joe Biden will also discuss the issue of Kashmir with Indian leaders, John Kirby said that the Kashmir policy of the United States has not changed, we believe that the parties can resolve the tension there by themselves.
