US police identify the suspect in the California shooting | Americas

Los Angeles County, California police have released the identity of the suspect who carried out the shooting at dance club Star Ballroom in the city of Monterey Park, this state on January 21 killed at least 11 people while participating in a festival to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The suspect’s identity was announced as Huu Can Tran, 72 years old. The subject was identified as the sole suspect in this shooting.

US investigators said the suspect had been arrested for illegal gun possession. This subject has a rifle at home and hundreds of rounds of ammunition and appears to be manufacturing a silencer.

Los Angeles Police Chief Robert Luna said investigators have not determined the cause of the suspect’s crime at the Star Ballroom – where this subject is believed to frequent.

According to Luna, suspect Huu Can Tran fired 42 bullets, killing at least 11 people and injuring 9 others. Subject then drove to another discotheque nearby.

Here, a man named Brandon Tsay obtained the suspect’s weapon. Authorities in the process of tracking a truck are being searched and when approaching, they heard gunshots coming from inside the vehicle.

The 72-year-old suspect was wounded by the gunfire and was later confirmed dead at the scene.
