US Open: Zverev easily won against his compatriot in the first round

Maximilian Marterer was able to equalize in the second set, but from then on, Alexander Zverev showed no mercy – the classic German won the next two games 6:3 and 6:2 and confidently advanced. American Ben Shelton won easily over Dominic Thiem.

For the women, Vang Ja-fan won the first set 6:2 against Maria Szakkari, who indicated even before the second game that she could not continue the match. Darja Kaszatkina, Donna Vekic and Erika Andrejeva also advanced in two sets, as did Diane Parry – the French player did not have a smooth match, as she overcame Hsin-jun Wang twice.
