WASHINGTON (Archyde.com) – The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell last week as demand for labor remained strong, setting the economy up for another month of strong job growth. The US Labor Department said Thursday that first-time applications for state unemployment benefits fell 15,000 to a seasonally adjusted pace of 214,000 for the week ending March 12. Economists polled by Archyde.com had forecast 220,000 orders in the last week.
