A US intelligence report, which was declassified on Friday, confirmed that it did not reveal “any direct evidence” that the Covid-19 pandemic began as a result of any alleged accident in the Wuhan Viral Research Laboratory.

The four-page report, published by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence “ODNI”, indicates that the intelligence community has not yet been able to rule out the possibility of the virus originating from a laboratory, nor has it been able to discover the origin of the pandemic.

“The CIA and other agencies are still unable to determine the exact source of the COVID-19 pandemic, as hypotheses (both natural and laboratory) rely on significant assumptions or are challenged with conflicting reports,” the report said.

The agencies stated that although “extensive work” was conducted on coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, they had found no evidence of a specific incident that might have caused the outbreak.

“We continue to have no indication that WII’s pre-pandemic virology research included ‘SARSCoV-2’ or one of its predecessors, or any direct evidence of a specific incident associated with research that may have occurred and involved pre-pandemic WUIV employees that might have caused the outbreak,” he added. Covid pandemic”.

It is noteworthy that the origin of the coronavirus pandemic has been deeply contested around the world, and in the United States, since the first cases of the disease appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan in late 2019.
