US President Joe Biden’s administration has repeatedly called on Israel to submit a plan to protect civilians in Rafah, where some 1.5 million Palestinians have sought refuge from the six-month-old war.
“We have made it clear to Israel that we think a large-scale military invasion of Rafah would have a very detrimental impact on civilians and would ultimately harm Israel’s security,” said US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller when asked regarding Netanyahu’s statement. the.
“This is not just a question of Israel presenting plans to us. We have explained to them that we think that there is a better way to achieve the legitimate objective, which is to weaken and dismantle and defeat the remaining Hamas battalions. remain in Rafah,” said Miller.
Netanyahu promised to attack the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. He stated that he had already set the exact date of the attack.
Netanyahu has repeatedly said Israel should send ground troops to Rafah and said it was Hamas’ last stronghold in the Gaza Strip.
