(CNN) The Walt Disney Company has launched the second wave of 7,000 layoffs it announced in February.

The cuts this time are for sports broadcaster ESPN, the theme park division, and the experience and product division. It will be held nationwide from the 24th to the 27th.

Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger has announced a three-step layoff to cut costs by $5.5 billion. The company suspended its dividend during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Mr. Iger said he plans to resume it in the future.

The second round will be the largest reduction, with a total of 4,000 people including the first round last month. However, hourly employees at theme parks are not expected to be eligible.

The third will be implemented by the beginning of summer. As of October 1, Disney had regarding 220,000 employees, of whom 166,000 were employed in the United States. A total of 7,000 jobs will be cut, or 3% of the total.
