Teresa Stadlober ended the cross-country skiing World Cup season on Sunday in Falun with 14th place in the mass start over 20 km skating. In the end, the 31-year-old from Salzburg was 32.2 seconds behind the victorious Jessie Diggins. The American triumphed in the finish sprint ahead of the Norwegians Heidi Weng and Anne Kjersti Kalvaa. With a dominant performance in Sweden, Diggins also secured the overall World Cup for the second time following 2021.

Diggins ran the competition from the front. The 32-year-old fixed the big crystal ball by winning two bonus ratings during the race. Stadlober finished fourth three times in the past World Cup season – in the skiathlon in December in Trondheim, in the classic over 50 km at Holmenkollen and on Saturday in Falun over 10 km classic. The 2022 Olympic bronze medalist finished the World Cup in twelfth place overall. She was last ranked better in 2019/20, finishing tenth.
