The US basketball league NBA wants to operate its own fleet of aircraft for the basketball teams’ games. This was reported by “CH-Aviation”. The league is currently in negotiations with the leasing company SMBC Aviation Capital.

Specifically, it is a contract for 13 Airbus A321 Neos, which are to be fully equipped with a VIP cabin.

Comlux Aviation from Switzerland is to convert the cabins at its site in Indianapolis. The aircraft are to have seats with a complete reclining surface, adapted to the body size of the NBA players. They are also to be equipped with humidifiers and individual interior fittings.

SMBC will lease the planes to the NBA. Delta Air Lines will then operate the flights as charters for the league.
