She shines brightly under the beam of light. You then have to take it in the palm of your hand, slowly rotate it, find its best profile. And enjoy. This UR-100V Stardust will put glitter in your eyes. watchmaker’s promise
This UR-100V will tell you regarding distant stars and constellations, dawning beauties and flamboyance, twinkling flashes and transparent reflections. “The universe, as a whole, is composed of stellar particles, making their presence essential in all the forms of matter that surround us. Whether in their raw or transformed state, from carbon to cut diamonds, from iron mineral to steel alloy, this stardust is omnipresent. It is crazy to think that we, as human beings, are also made up of this celestial substance. Thus, the nickname Stardust, logically associated with the setting of this UR-100V, also extends to the watch itself and its future owner,” says Martin Frei, artistic director and co-founder of URWERK.

This UR-100V is set with 400 diamonds (VVS1 clarity; D color). Almost 1.90 carats of pure carbon. The technique of snow setting was chosen here: “We wanted a decor reminiscent of the celestial vault. Nothing uniform, more orderly chaos. It wasn’t so much the size of the stones that mattered to us, but their arrangement, this almost random design,” says Felix Baumgartner, master watchmaker and co-founder of URWERK.
Four hundred diamonds carefully chosen from 8 different formats line the case of the UR-100V Stardust. Only the edges of the watch have been left bare. Run your finger over this diamond mosaic. The structure is soft to the touch, smooth, fluid. The realization of this setting was however a nice challenge because of the nature of the steel used here. Harder and less malleable than gold, steel required more intricate and meticulous jewelry work. Under the crystal globe of the UR-100V Stardust, the timer – located on the upper part of the railroad – is covered with 36 diamonds, 24 more adorn the crown of the watch. The steel pin buckle is magnified by two rows of 11 diamonds each.

In addition to its aesthetics and wandering hour movement, the UR-100V Stardust is spatial in nature. Like all watches in the 100 collection, it features two notches along its satellite holder. The first is a kilometer counter representing the distance traveled by the Earth on its own axis in 20 minutes, or 555 km. The second is a kilometer counter indicating the distance traveled by the Earth around the sun during the same period of time, ie 35,740 km. The UR-100V Stardust thus testifies to the terrestrial journey through the interstellar void, crossing millions of suns and reflecting their light.
