Uruguay returns to suspend matches due to Izquierdo’s health condition

The Uruguayan Football League has been suspended again due to the situation faced by Nacional footballer Juan Manuel Izquierdo, who remains hospitalized in the intensive care center of the Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital in Sao Paulo.

This was announced by the board of directors of the First Division of the Uruguayan Football Association, explaining that the second and third dates of the Clausura tournament will be postponed.

The second date of the competition was scheduled for the weekend and the match between Nacional and Liverpool was scheduled to be played that Monday night.

Following the incident involving Izquierdo, the Uruguay Football Association decided to suspend activities and the board postponed meetings until Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

Izquierdo fainted in the 84th minute of the Copa Libertadores round of 16 match between Nacional and São Paulo of Brazil.
