Arabictrader.com – Data issued on Monday morning by the National Statistics Office in Spain showed that the preliminary reading of the general index recorded a growth of 3.5% during the current month of October on an annual basis, which is less than market expectations that indicated a growth of 3.8%. At the same time, the preliminary reading of the consumer price inflation index in its core value recorded an increase of 3.5% on an annual basis, which was less than market expectations that indicated it would record 3.7%, and Spain had recorded a growth in core inflation to 3.2% during the month of last September.
On a monthly basis, the general inflation index in Spain recorded a growth of 0.3% during October, which is also lower than market expectations that indicated it would record 0.6%, but slightly higher than the September reading, which amounted to 0.2%.
Core inflation also recorded a growth of 0.3% during October on a monthly basis, which was less than market expectations for a growth of 0.4%, after the previous reading recorded a growth of 0.6% last September.
