Urgent guidance from “Electricity” to the owners of these meters: change them immediately

An official source at the South Cairo Electricity Distribution Company revealed that if a technical or technical malfunction is discovered when charging the prepaid meter card in any of the October regions, the citizen must go to its Electricity Department headquarters, and submit a request for an examination to change the meter with a new one.

The new meters are characterized by great capabilities, the most important of which is giving the citizen 48 hours to recharge the balance if it expires during Eid times or at night, as well as the “NFC” feature that facilitates charging through the use of the mobile without going to the electricity company.

The source confirmed, in exclusive statements to “Masrawy”, that the meter will be installed within 48 hours of submitting the examination request, noting that the replacement and installation of nearly 7,000 new meters has been completed instead of the meters that were installed in the October range, especially the areas that were Implementation of national projects such as (Dar Misr, Housing Egypt, Haram City) and others.

He explained that these procedures come within the framework of the company’s plan to confront the problems and complaints of some citizens regarding the difficulties in charging the meters and the failure of the meter to respond to the charging card once it is shipped, which represented a burden on the company and the citizen as well.

He stressed that the company immediately replaces the old meter as a result of technical problems related to the configuration of the prepaid meter belonging to one of the private companies that contracted to supply the meters earlier, which also improved the newly produced meters to eliminate some problems.​
