A donor contributed 21,408 dirhams to help the patient “Abu Jahad” pay part of the cost of his treatment amounting to 57,516 dirhams. The patient still needs 36.1 thousand dirhams to complete the treatment, and his financial capabilities and health conditions do not allow him to manage the remaining treatment amount.
The “hotline” coordinated between the donor and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, to transfer the donation amount to the patient’s account at Sheikh Khalifa City Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
On November 13, “Emirates Today” published the story of “Abu Jihad” suffering from chronic diseases, where the patient expressed his happiness and deep thanks to the donor and his support for his suffering, in light of the circumstances he is going through.
The patient, “Abu Jihad,” 73 years old, suffered from a health problem two years ago, which led to him suffering from severe kidney failure. He was transplanted to a kidney at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Hospital in Abu Dhabi, but his condition deteriorated a year ago, as he developed diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart health problems. He currently needs special medications to control his condition and monitor it periodically for six months in the cardiology, catheterization, diabetes and endocrine departments, in addition to medications in the hospital. The cost of his treatment amounts to 57 thousand and 516 dirhams, for a year, and his financial capabilities and health conditions do not allow him to arrange the amount of treatment.
A medical report issued by Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi showed that “the 73-year-old patient suffers from multiple chronic diseases, including diabetes, blood pressure, and coronary heart disease, in addition to kidney failure.”
The medical report indicated that “the patient needs special medications to treat the heart and chronic diseases, most notably diabetes and high blood pressure, at a cost of 57,516 dirhams. He also needs periodic monitoring for a period of six months in the cardiology and other diseases department.”
The patient, “Abu Jihad,” previously told the story of his suffering with the disease to “Emarat Al-Youm,” saying: “My health condition has deteriorated greatly in the recent period, and I have become suffering from high diabetes and high blood pressure. I am not able to move or walk, and I need medications continuously.”
He added: “Two years ago, I suffered severe kidney failure, which forced me to undergo a kidney transplant, because I was constantly on dialysis, but that was of no use, so I had an urgent operation to save my life, and my health condition was controlled, and I stayed in the hospital for several days until my condition improved.” ».
He continued: “I returned to life normally, but my condition relapsed following I felt chest pain, my weight decreased significantly, and I became unable to do any work.”
The patient continued: “My health and financial condition has deteriorated and I have become unable to work or manage the costs of my treatment. I am also the sole breadwinner for my family of four, and a friend helps me with amounts that barely meet our daily living requirements.”
The patient, “Abu Jihad,” appealed to good people and people with compassionate hearts to extend a helping hand to him and help him manage the costs of treatment.
. The patient still needs 36.1 thousand dirhams to complete treatment.
