Over the past few hours, money changers in the parallel market took the initiative to request sums of dollars through intermediaries working with them, following they received numerous requests from companies and institutions to secure hard currency for them as quickly as possible.
The information indicated that these money changers are currently working, according to their approved mechanisms, to secure the dollar without contributing any exchange rate to the parallel market, especially in light of the current security conditions related to the events in southern Lebanon.
The sources said that there are fears among many companies of “the dollar being cut off” in the event of any war, and for this reason they have decided to “secure themselves” now before any emergency occurs.
