The International Federation of Association Football updated its FIFA ranking and the Argentine National Team, world champion in the last Qatar 2022 World Cup, remains first, by a wide margin over France, which remains second. After three consecutive defeats in the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, Brazil dropped to fifth place on the list.
With 2,069.17 points, the team led by Lionel Scaloni and captained by Lionel Messi, remains at the top of the list that evaluates the performance of men’s international football, with more than 200 points difference over Les Bleus, who appear with 1,845 .44 points.
Before the last update, Verdeamarela was in third place, but now England appears, with 1,800.05 points. Belgium follows, with 1,798.09. And just in fifth place is Brazil, with poor performance in recent international matches, with 1,784.09 points.
The top 10 is completed by the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Croatia, in that order. In turn, the first African team to appear in the ranking is Morocco, in 13th place; while the first Asian is Japan, in 17th.
Among the first 10 in the world there are only two Latin Americans (Argentina and Brazil), and if the first 25 are taken into account, there are five (Uruguay, Mexico and Colombia are added).
