Update on Health Progress of Indigenous Children Rescued: Central Military Hospital Statement

The General Directorate of the Central Military Hospital issued a new statement through which it updated this Saturday morning the information of the last 48 hours on the state of health of the four indigenous children rescued in the jungle last Friday.

The minors rescued and being treated are: Lesly Jacobo Bonbaire (13 years old), Solecni Ranoque Mucutuy (9 years old), Tien Noriel Ronoque Mucutuy (4 years old) and Cristian Neryman Ranoque Mucutuy (11 months old).

According to the medical institution: “Patients currently continue to undergo medical treatment for each of their current infectious conditions, their evolution has been stable and mechanisms to search for chronic infectious pathologies continue to be implemented given the place of origin and nutritional and immunological status. It is considered that a progressive nutritional recovery with weight gain in goals has been achieved.

Likewise, the Military Hospital highlighted that it is necessary to maintain respiratory and contact isolation due to the high risk secondary to their basic nutritional situation, which conditions their immune response. Continuity is provided in multidisciplinary follow-up by the service specialties.

According to the doctors: “For the Central Military Hospital it is satisfactory to be able to provide this piece of peace of mind regarding the progressive improvement that the children have presented”

In the same way, the hospital thanked the backing and support received from the different institutions committed to the recovery of the physical and mental health of children.
