The update of the smartwatches of the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 lines is available in Brazil, which allows you to control the zoom of the Galaxy smartphone camera through the wearable. With this new addition, Galaxy smartphone and smartwatch owners will have even more creative control to produce memorable photos and videos.

Previously, it was possible to pair smartwatches with a Galaxy smartphone to control the camera remotely – a perfect feature for taking a hands-free selfie or family photo without leaving anyone out. Now, with the update, people are also able to control the camera’s zoom directly from the wearable’s screen.

“This update further expands the connectivity experience between the smartphone and smartwatches in the Galaxy Ecosystem, giving people even more creative control,” explains Renato Citrini, senior product manager of the Mobile Experience division at Samsung Brazil. “This and the recent update to the Galaxy Buds2 Pro wireless earbuds demonstrate our continued commitment to keeping devices with the latest experiences.”

The Camera Controller zooms in or out with a simple tap on the smart watch face or by flicking the rotating bezel. The function is available for smartwatches from the Watch5 line (Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro) and the Watch4 line (Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic). So you can pair your Watch5 with your new Galaxy S23 5G smartphone to take photos remotely. Check below the step by step on how to use the resource.

Using Zoom on the Galaxy Watch5 Camera Controller

First, make sure your smartphone is paired with the smart watch. Then, mirror your Galaxy smartphone screen on Watch5 – this is done with the Camera Controller, which is already installed on the watch’s WearOS system.

Once you open the app, it’s also very easy, as it automatically launches the camera app on the connected smartphone. Now just use the Watch5’s on-screen controls to trigger camera features on your smartphone.

You can take photos by pressing the capture button on the Watch5, zooming in or out, or switching between the front and rear cameras. It also has a timer function — ideal for photos with many people, allowing everyone to be notified and strike their best poses. And on the Galaxy Watch5 you can even preview saved images by accessing the gallery icon.

To make videos, you must first open the smartwatch camera, switch to video mode and then start recording from the Watch5 screen. The same process goes for Watch4 series devices.
