Tournament Season 4
In previous Diablo II: Resurrected Tournament Seasons, your characters have proven they are salvage-savvy and ready to battle to dominate the leaderboard, striking terror into the tormented hearts of their demonic opponents in the process.
Tournament Season 4 will start on May 4 and will offer intrepid adventurers a new opportunity to race to level 99 and rack up powerful rewards along the way. We can’t wait to find out which determined souls will be able to carve their name to the top of the leaderboard this time around.

For those new to Tournament Seasons, you might be wondering what happens to the items in your shared chest when the current season ends.
Once Tournament Season 3 is over, all Tournament characters will be transferred to their respective standard party. All shared chest items for this character group will be placed in the new “Withdraw only” tab set of the shared chest, marked with a “Past” checkbox. All Tournament Season 2 items stored in the “Withdraw Only” tabs will be lost at this time. You’ll have all of Season 4 to remove any Season 3 items you want to keep. At the end of Season 4, the contents of this set of tabs will be replaced with the contents of the Shared Chest from Season 4. Remember to remove all items before that, otherwise they will be lost forever!
Update 2.7
The May 2 at 7 p.m. (Paris time)discover all the improvements in features and comfort of play as well as bug fixes with the 2.7 update.
Feature enhancements
- You will now have access to 4 additional slots for your charactersavailable in all online modes.
- The first time a tournament character from a previous season is used in non-tournament play, Akara’s ability to reset stat and skill points will be reset to zero. Characters from previous tournament seasons that have already been used in non-tournament play are not eligible.
Comment from the development team: we want to encourage players to experiment with their builds. If you have already performed all the resets offered by Akara during the tournament, you will be able to perform more to continue your experiments when the character goes out of the tournament.
- All chat rooms have been equipped with a system that automatically removes malicious messages from these conversations.
Gameplay improvements and bug fixes
Gameplay
- The next hit delay system now only applies to projectiles created by using the same skill.
- For Martial Arts assassins, each charged skill tick is considered a separate use of the skill due to the delay before the next hit.
Comment from the development team: we’ve revamped the concept of delay before next move to make it easier to understand while still keeping its original purpose. This change will save you a lot of headaches in multiplayer and make it easier to set up certain character setups.
- Knockdown effect removed from Bul-Kathos Holy Overpower Greatsword.
Comment from the development team: Bul-Kathos is a powerful set, but the knockdown spawned by Holy Overpower made it difficult for melee characters to use. Given the rarity of the set, we chose to increase the viability of the weapon and the set as a whole.
- Druids can now switch directly between their Nightscreamer form and their Kodiak form.
Comment from the development team: shapeshifting druids using the shapeshifting runeword are encouraged to switch between their night howler form and their kodiak form to make the most of the bonuses. In practice, the system is a bit winded: you have to turn into a kodiak, hit a monster, turn back into a human and wait a second before turning into a night howler and hitting a monster once more (or first into a howler night and then in Kodiak, according to your preferences). We are therefore removing the passage through the human form, allowing a more fluid transition between the different forms.
- Assassin trap skills now benefit from elemental skill damage boosters.
Comment from the development team: We have identified an anomaly with Lightning damage increases not applying to Lightning Sentinels when playing offline on Nintendo Switch. We plan to fix this issue in a future update and apologize for any inconvenience caused.
- Fixed an issue where Mephisto would drop low level treasures if terrorized.
- Fixed an issue where a dying Assassin with active Martial Arts charges might cause a crash in offline mode.
- Fixed an issue where assassin traps were not benefiting from resistance reduction in offline mode.
General
- Fixed a Polish translation issue in the Character Limit Reached text.
- Fixed an issue where progressing between towns and connected areas in Acts II, III, and V would cause an abrupt change in brightness when the character is terrorized.
- Fixed an issue where the icon indicating that a monster is terrorized was not displaying correctly in some languages.
- Fixed an issue where the Amazon’s sound cue for dodging attacks would play when non-Amazon characters use the Feint skill granted by the Uproar runeword.
- Fixed several stability issues encountered in online mode.
Tournament system
- Fixed an issue where the message announcing the next season of the tournament between two seasons was incorrect.
- Fixed an issue where characters recently switched from tournament mode to non-tournament mode would not appear as such and fail to join games.
- Fixed an issue where Runewords exclusive to an upcoming season might be used in the current season.
- Fixed an issue where the tournament option was showing for characters that had already been converted to tournament mode.
Version PC
- Fixed an issue where controller buttons would become unresponsive if the user toggled to Legacy graphics during the character selection animation on the character creation screen.
- Players will now be notified when the game uses outdated data.
Version console
- Fixed an issue where a player’s position was not updating correctly in the friends list on Xbox consoles.
- Fixed an issue where male and female players on Nintendo Switch were not appearing in the ‘Recent Playmates’ tab.
- Fixed an issue where the Polish and Spanish versions of some console custom item texts would display pronouns in all genders at the same time.
Mods
- Increased usable slot limit from 255 to 511.
- Added DataVersionBuild.txt. We recommend that modders include this file in their mods to reduce the number of unexpected errors between game versions.
- New columns have been added. Developers of existing offline solo mods can use the new data to recreate their mods or manually add the new columns before merging.
- TreasureClassEx.txt, cubemain.txt, UniqueItems.txt
- “ladder” -> “firstLadderSeason”, “lastLadderSeason”
- Runes.txt
- “server” -> “firstLadderSeason”, “lastLadderSeason”
- TreasureClassEx.txt, cubemain.txt, UniqueItems.txt
