From July 7 and for a period of seven weeks, the Cointe tunnel will be completely closed to traffic between the Avroy and Val Benoit exits, in the direction of Luxembourg. Work to modernize and bring the tunnel up to new standards must indeed take place, in an “imperative” way, we are assured to Sofico.
And as she had announced, preparatory work for this major project is already taking place. This is why, since this Sunday, the Cointe tunnel will be closed every night until next Friday July 7, with the exception of the nights from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday.
This closure concerns only one direction of traffic, in the direction of Luxembourg, between interchange 35 “Avroy/Laveu” and interchange 37 “Val Benoit – Seraing – Marche”, from 10 p.m. (gradual closure of access from 8:30 p.m.) to 6 a.m. (gradual reopening from 5 a.m.).
The usual diversion is in place via the A604, route S1.
