Up to one lakh Kovid cases per day in India

In India, the number of Kovid cases reaches close to one lakh per day. Kovid confirmed 90,928 people in 24 hours. 325 people died of Kovid infection last day. The total death toll was 4,82,876. The daily rate increased to 56.5 percent. This is the highest rate since June last year. 19,206 were cured.

Kovid’s affliction to doctors is affecting the functioning of hospitals in many places. The number of beds in hospitals has been increased. All leave except medical leave of government employees was canceled. Apart from Delhi, Kovid-Omikron cases are on the rise in Maharashtra, Bengal and Kerala, according to the Ministry of Health. The number of Kovid cases has increased six-fold in the last eight days.

ICMR and Tata Diagnosis have developed the RTPCR Kit for Omicron Testing. There are currently regarding 40 Omicron testing labs in the country. Due to this, the artisans are facing difficulties to know the result. It is in this context that the new kit was developed. The kits will soon be distributed to states and labs.

The booster dose will be distributed from the 10th of this month in the wake of the Kovid expansion. The first phase will be given to health workers and those above 60 years of age. Kovid’s condition is critical in West Bengal and Maharashtra, the health ministry said. In the wake of the Kovid expansion, night curfew was declared in Tamil Nadu and lockdown on Sundays.
