It wasn’t just casualties.
Typhoon Hinnamno’s tyranny reached its peak in Pohang.
More than 8,000 homes were flooded and more than 2,000 people were displaced.
In just a few hours, 500 millimeters of rain fell all at once, turning the entire city into a huge sea of water.
Pensions and factories collapsed, and large and small landslides followed.
Armored vehicles of the Marine Corps were also mobilized for rescue operations.

Muddy water flows continuously in front of the pension complex.
Upstream, the pension building is submerged in muddy water.
The entire building collapsed as the ground fell in the torrent due to the swelled torrent.

“The bridge has already been washed away, and there are 5 or 6 pensions next to it, but one of them collapsed, and it was a very urgent situation.”
Again, the factory building stands precariously on the crumbling ground.
Early this morning, when Typhoon Hinnamno poured a maximum of 505mm water bombs, the rivers of Pohang overflowed in an instant.
Most of Pohang was submerged in water, and especially the Naengcheon in Nam-gu overflowed, turning the center of nearby Ocheon-eup into a big river.
Vehicles were also flooded.

“There is a lot of water in the middle of the road, so tow trucks can’t tow it. So, the alley is abandoned.”
It’s 6 am now, and I’m in Sangsang-dong, Pohang. As you can see, it’s raining like a torrential downpour, making it difficult to even tell where the road is and where the sidewalk is.
The hill behind the school collapses, crashing into parked vehicles and buildings.
A scene in which soil and sand covered the vehicle in an instant was caught on CCTV nearby.
The middle school parking lot and annexed buildings look in danger on the hillside that has turned into a cliff.

“It rained so much that there was a landslide, and now it’s more dangerous because of the additional collapse.”
In addition to the vehicle I see behind me, there are eight more vehicles of employees and residents buried in this dirt pile.
In an unprecedented flood, the 1st Marine Division mobilized amphibious armored vehicles and rubber boats to rescue them.
An armored car races through the city in the current, and pulls citizens trapped in the rising water on top of the armored vehicle.
They were also caught carrying people in an excavator basket and carrying out rescue operations.
It was confirmed that 8,000 houses and 3,000 shops in Pohang alone suffered flood damage due to this flood.
In addition, more than 2,000 people were displaced.
However, the extent of the damage is so great, and the exact status of the damage is not counted because the roads are cut off or controlled.
