Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh police with bulldozers to nab the accused. Police have come up with a bulldozer to nab the accused in the Pratap Ghat rape case. Police parked the bulldozer in front of the defendant’s house and threatened to destroy the house with a bulldozer if he did not surrender. According to national media reports, the accused in the rape case surrendered before the police.
Police bulldozed police to nab a man who allegedly locked a woman in a toilet near the Pratap Ghat railway station and raped her. The girl was raped last Saturday. The accused was absconding following the incident. He was searched in Pratap Ghat, Prayag Raj and Amethi districts but might not be apprehended. With this, the police came with a bulldozer in front of the house of the accused on Sunday night.
Police parked the bulldozer in front of the house and issued an ultimatum to surrender before police early Monday morning. If not surrendered, the house would be bulldozed. It is reported that following this, the accused surrendered to the police at another place and his arrest was recorded.
A 20-year-old woman arrived at the Pratap Ghat railway station with her husband and was assaulted in a toilet outside the station. The woman arrived at the railway station to go to Ahmedabad with her husband. Meanwhile, her husband went out to buy food. The woman then went to the toilet building at the station. The toilet at the station might not be used due to passenger congestion. She then waited for her husband near the ticket counter at the station. Meanwhile, the accused approached the woman.
The accused approached the girl asking if she needed any help. The woman asked if she might go to the toilet and if there was a facility nearby. With this, the accused took the girl away saying that he would provide toilet facilities.
The accused took the girl to a toilet outside the railway station. The door was locked and he was given the key to open it. However, following the woman opened the lock and entered the toilet, the accused trespassed and locked the door from inside and raped the woman. The girl was rescued by some locals who ran away following hearing the screams. Meanwhile, the accused fled the scene.
Fatehpur police have also reported bulldozers recovering stolen goods in Uttar Pradesh. The iron bars and trailer stolen by the criminal gang were recovered by the police following breaking the wall of the thieves’ godown. The warehouse used by the thieves to store and hide the looted items was also bulldozed.
A group of four drove off with the trailer following giving the driver a drug mix in the food. The vehicle was carrying iron bars worth regarding Rs 35 lakh. Police have registered a case once morest a Haryana resident and arrested Nihal, a native of Bihar. The information regarding the godown of the accused was obtained from his interrogation. It was also confirmed that the stolen trailer and wires were here. The police team then reached the spot with a bulldozer. The investigation is continuing for the other accused involved in the incident.
