Unwrapping the Magic: TBWAZurich’s Secret Sauce for Harnessing McDonald’s Cult Following

Since you can’t get enough of the sauces and nuggets, TBWAZurich presents the next step: the Deeper Dip Sauce.

Editorial – October 9, 2024

A global trend: The McDonald’s community has been discussing on social media for months how to get the most sauce on your Chicken McNuggets. Why? Because everyone has a different favorite sauce, but everyone agrees that there is always too little of it. The fans present their hacks to each other. Dipping? Squeeze? Fill the sauce and nuggets into the box and shake the whole thing? There are no limits to creativity. “We’ve listened to the fans and are now giving them what they want – the amount of sauce their Chicken McNuggets deserve,” said Jessica Dumoulin, Marketing Consultant at McDonald’s Switzerland.

The McDonald’s sauce festival has been running since October 8th, at which the Deeper Dip Sauce was launched alongside four new sauces. But these only come in three flavors. “After the Nuggets of Love, we are pleased to have once again found an answer in product form together with McDonald’s that emerged from fan culture.”says Manuel Wenzel, Chief Creative Officer at TBWAZürich. The Deeper Dip Sauce is now being presented to McDonald’s fans in various advertising materials such as posters, banners and TV spots.
