Wacky scene for a Habs goalie.
5th round choice (138th overall) by CH in 2019, Frederik Dichow scored the winning goal in a match between Frolunda HC and Straubing Tigers.
It was 2-2 at the end of the 3rd period when the Canadian hopeful blocked a shot from Marcel Brandt in front of his net. The Tigers forward then took the disc back to offer it to his teammate JC Lipon on the blue line, but the latter might not control the pass. The puck therefore crossed the ice before ending up in the back of the net. By being the last player from Frolunda to have touched the puck, the hope of CH was awarded the winning goal in this match.
Frederik Dichow was not the only Habs player to stand out in Europe. Emil Heineman also found the back of the net in his second match for Leksand IF. The striker, who is now fully recovered from an injury sustained at the CH camp, also scored the decisive goal in the penalty shootout in a 3-2 victory once morest Malmo in the Swedish Elite League.
