Many people had their eyes pointed towards the sky this Sunday early evening. A strange purple light, which may resemble the Northern Lights, has been observed in several places in our country.

Usually, these northern lights are present in the northern countries of Europe. They are rarer in Belgium, but cases sometimes happen here.

But here, it might not be the aurora borealis. In fact, many tomato nurseries use red and blue light to grow tomatoes in winter. The light from the greenhouses is reflected in the clouds. With low clouds you can see the light very well – really nothing more than light pollution.
