NASA scientists are trying to gather as much information as possible about dark energy and dark matter. It is said to make up 95% of our universe, but we know very little about this huge proportion. The only way we can learn more about it is through pictures, because dark matter cannot be tracked in the normal way. “We are humans and we want to understand everything around us; whether ancient people looked at the night sky, drawing constellations on our caves, or trying to understand whether the sun would come back after winter – we seek knowledge and insight.” Carol Professor Mundell told BBC News. “We still don’t understand 95% of the universe, which is 13.8 billion years old. We are sentient beings that have only existed for a fraction of that time, but we may be the species that can figure it all out. Dark matter and dark energy remain two of the biggest mysteries of our universe.
