The Municipal Council of Moutier unveils its 2023-2026 legislative program. He presented an unpublished document to the City Council on Monday evening at the Sociét’halle. This document is composed of five strategic axes: “Moutier succeeds in its transfer”, “Moutier is developing”, “Moutier is modernizing”, “Moutier is a sustainable city” and “Moutier is a city of living together and quality of life”.
This legislature will be marked by the passage of the city provost in the canton of Jura. The program is thus geared towards this change in the institutional environment. “If we succeed in the transfer, I think we will have passed the legislature. The whole period is driven by this transfer, it’s obvious, ”says the mayor of Moutier Marcel Winistoerfer. For the executive, enthusiasm must prevail. “The tensions linked to the Jura Question are decreasing, but they are still there. The Jura project must affect everyone. I am convinced that it will go well,” adds Marcel Winistoerfer.
“We would like our economy to resume an intense life”
The legislative program also deals with development and modernization. Moutier aims to create 200 jobs and set up 10 external companies by 2027. “The canton of Jura will help us in this process. Our economy is currently working well, but we would like it to resume an intense life, as it was the case at the end of the 60s and the beginning of the 70s. Moutier must find a sunny place, by joining forces with the Jura “, explains the mayor provost. The City Council also wants the city to have 7,700 inhabitants by 2031. “We set this figure to find colors and radiance. It is right to have these claims and to try to achieve a positive result”, says Marcel Winistoerfer once more.
