© Noted industry insider Tom Henderson has learned new details regarding Ubisoft’s next major Fary Cry title following an exclusive report in January. The next game, which we will call Far Cry 7 and which is known internally as Project Blackbird, is scheduled for release in the fall of 2025. The game will be developed by Ubisoft Montreal and will switch from the Dunia engine to Snowdrop. From sources it became known that the next part of the series will be non-linear, in the center of which will be the rescue of the player’s kidnapped family. The game’s plot has been said to revolve around a wealthy family that is kidnapped by a group of conspirators now called the Sons of Truth. While the exact, limited details may change depending on the game’s stage of development, it has been said that the crux of the campaign is for the player to save their entire family within a certain period of time. Currently the current in-game timer is 72 hours or 24 hours in real time, but the timer can be paused when the player enters one of their hideouts as stated. Far Cry 7’s non-linear story means that family members do not need to be rescued in order, and some family members can be killed, which has an impact on the plot. While the details are still a bit unclear, it is clear that the goal is to destroy the Sons of Truth, and to complete the game 100% you will need to safely rescue all of your family members. To find your family members, Far Cry 7 has been said to introduce new interrogation mechanics into the game, which doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get the information you need from the enemy. It has been said that sometimes the enemy gives out information, sometimes he lies, remains silent, and sometimes he even runs away.
