When he started his telework day, he did not think it would end with emergency hospitalization. It is on Reddit that an American decided to tell his amazing story on February 16, in a post titled “My Apple Watch just saved my life”which we have translated for you:

“I had set my iPhone and Apple Watch to Do Not Disturb to focus on my work. After having lunch, I felt a little tired. So I lay down on my sofa to take a short nap.

When I woke up, I checked my notifications. There were regarding ten that told me that my pulse had raced while I slept. I decided to take my followingnoon, and I stayed lying down. But the notifications did not stop. I called my doctor by video, and he had me check my vital constants before calling the emergency room.

Rescuers initially thought it was a heart attack, but it was actually gastrointestinal bleeding. They told me that if I hadn’t been transfused on time, I wouldn’t have survived.

I thank the nurses, doctors, people who donated blood and everyone who helped treat me, but I would have passed out and died if I hadn’t had my Apple Watch.”

Grateful for the help given to him by the nursing staff, the man nevertheless insisted on recalling that without the notifications sent to him by his Apple Watch, he probably would not have survived. Another user of Redditwho works in a hospital, commented:

“You must have suffered! I have the impression that at the hospital where I work, not a week goes by without someone arriving in the emergency room following receiving a notification from their Apple Watch. And most of the time the watch is right!”

We can therefore reasonably rely on Apple’s connected watches and their ability to warn their users of health problems that put their lives at risk. A story that adds to the long list of moving testimonials that prove that the Apple Watch saves lives.
