From the 6th (Monday) to the 7th (Tuesday) following the three-day holiday, the weather is expected to be stormy across a wide area from northern Japan to western Japan. Locally extremely heavy rain is expected, with heavy rain possible. The wind will pick up, and there will be some places with torrential rain. The unseasonably hot weather is expected to gradually subside following the 7th (Tuesday).
Stormy weather following the holidays
From the 6th (Monday) to the 7th (Tuesday), a low pressure system will develop as it passes near Hokkaido, and a front will pass from northern Japan to western Japan. Warm, humid air is expected to flow towards the low pressure system and front, making atmospheric conditions extremely unstable.
It will rain intermittently in Hokkaido from the 6th (Monday) to the 7th (Tuesday), with some places experiencing heavy rain. Please be careful of landslides caused by heavy rain, flooding of low-lying areas, and rising river waters. It will rain in Tohoku and Hokuriku from the night of the 6th (Monday) to the morning of the 7th (Tuesday), and the rain may become heavier in some places. It is also likely to rain in places in the Kanto region from the morning of the 6th (Monday) to the 7th (Tuesday). The Tokai and Kinki regions will experience rain and thunderstorms from the evening of the 6th (Monday) to the morning of the 7th (Tuesday), with locally heavy rain. Active rain clouds and thunderclouds will form in China, Shikoku, and Kyushu mainly in the followingnoon on the 6th (Monday), and localized extremely heavy rain is likely. Be careful of flooding of low-lying land, rising river water, and landslides.

On the 8th (Wednesday), the weather will improve around Honshu and it will be mostly sunny. However, the clear skies will not last, and clouds are expected to increase from the Kanto region to Kyushu on the 9th (Thursday).
On the 10th (Friday), a low pressure system will develop and move north of Hokkaido, and a front extending from the low pressure system will move south near Honshu. It will rain widely from Hokkaido to Kyushu, and the rain will likely become heavier in some places. On Saturday the 11th, there will be a winter-like atmospheric pressure pattern. Cold air is moving in, and it looks like it will snow in some places in Hokkaido, even on the flatlands. It’s a good idea to prepare winter tires.
Until the 6th (Monday), there are many summer days in the Kanto region and westward where the maximum temperature is over 25℃, and it is likely to be unseasonably hot. After the 7th (Tuesday), the number of summer days will decrease, but there will be summer days in some places in the Kanto region. After the 8th (Wednesday), the Kanto region will be free from the summer sun and the heat will likely subside.
Cloudy and rainy on the Sea of Japan side, sunny days on the Pacific side
From the 13th (Monday) onward, clouds will spread from the Sea of Japan side of Hokkaido to the Hokuriku region, and there will be frequent rainy days. The Pacific side of Hokkaido and Tohoku, and from Kanto to Kyushu are expected to be mostly sunny.
The maximum temperature in Hokkaido will increase in number of days below 10℃, and it will become colder during the day. In Tohoku and Hokuriku, there will be days when the temperature will not reach 15℃ and the air will feel cold. From Kanto to Kyushu, there will be many days when the temperature does not reach 20℃. Mornings and evenings are cold, and there are even winter days (minimum temperature below 0℃) in Sapporo. There will also be many days with temperatures below 10℃ in urban areas from Tohoku to Kyushu. The season is rapidly approaching, so please take care of your health.
