When you order from McDonald’s, you can remove or add as many ingredients as you want to your burgers. And that’s exactly what American Rob DenBleyker did on December 20. “I was ordering lunch at McDonald’s on the Doordash app (home food delivery service, editor’s note), and I found that it was possible to remove all the ingredients from a cheeseburger until there was no cheeseburger left at all. I was curious to see what would happen if I ordered an empty burger“he told the British daily Metro.
The American therefore ordered a cheeseburger and asked that we retire all the elements making up the sandwich (mustard, ketchup, onions, pickles, cheese, meat, bread roll and salt). A hamburger that only cost 1.79 euros. “Are they going to cancel it? Are they going to deliver an empty bag? I do it so you don’t have to”by Rob DenBleyker on Twitter.
OK let’s try this once more, ordering a nothing burger from McDonalds. this time nothing else in the order.

“They delivered an empty package!”
Less than twenty minutes later, the American receives a notification from the delivery service that the restaurant “don’t know what you want in your order”. For Rob, McDonald’s will never deliver this weird order. He does not answer. A few minutes later, a delivery man rings at his door, a paper bag with the yellow M logo in his hand. “They delivered an empty package!”he exclaims in his Twitter thread.
In the process, he publishes a video to prove that he has indeed had a sandwich delivered “to nothing” which cost him 15 dollars (14 euros) including delivery costs and a tip of 6 dollars (5.60 euros). “Capitalism is savage”he commented under his publication.
