Tomorrow will be a key day with the sectional assemblies and that will give an overview prior to the Extraordinary Congress of Unter that will take place this Tuesday in Luis Beltrán. The province made a new offer on Friday and awaits a favorable response.
The current teacher conflict has been going on for almost three months and the salary situation has still been resolved. Till the date 15 strikes were carried out and tomorrow will be decisive when the different local assemblies of the union are held.
On Friday at the Ministry of Labor, the teaching parity and the government offer consisted of an increase of 16% in April salaries, corresponding to the two-month period April-May.
The proposal also contemplates the retroactive payment of 3% for the months of February and March, since only 5% was settled during those two months, on account of future agreements.
In addition, the official delegation ratified the increase in family allowances by 100%, the same percentage in terms of «Mobility», and 20% for the top of that concept.
Education ratified the additional 10%, to be charged once to the entire teaching sector if this proposal is approved. Until now, this amount was collected by the teachers who fulfilled their work obligations on March 22 and 23 and is pending payment for those who adhered to the measure of force established by the union.
Unter’s representatives, following hearing the offer, requested payment of a 35% increase as a result of the mismatch between salary and CPI from previous years, while they requested a 15% increase, starting in February, “monthly” and “accumulated to the basic of the witness charge” and “with monthly recomposition and bimonthly review”.
In this sense, the general secretary of the teachers union, Silvana Inostroza, ensured that this new proposal “We would be several points above inflationCurrently, always with the bimonthly review and update clause, it is a guarantee to be able to permanently review our salary.
