Unstoppable Offense: Kevin Durant and Devin Booker Lead Phoenix Suns to Victory

Led by Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, the Suns dynamited the Wolves last night. For Eric Gordon, Phoenix could quickly become unstoppable offensively.

Planting 133 points in the NBA is not necessarily something new, but when it comes to the best defense in the League in front, it is necessarily more striking. The Wolves did what they could but they were unable to stop the Suns fury embodied by Kevin Durant and Devin Booker (62 points at two, at 23/37 on the shoot!).

A small taste of the enormous offensive potential of this team, whose start to the season has been slowed down by injuries to its stars. Of the eleven games played by the Suns this season, Devin Booker was only present three times. Same for Bradley Beal. Worse still, the trio with KD has so far never been able to be fielded in an official match.

Despite this, the Phoenix attack is not doing so badly. The Suns have the 10th offensive rating in the NBA. Rather promising when you know that Kevin Durant had to manage current affairs alone most of the time. This night against the Wolves, the reaper was able to count on Devin Booker and Phoenix showed a much more dangerous face. When Bradley Beal can also be added to the team, this promises some pretty impressive fireworks in attack.

Interviewed by Duane Rankin ofArizona Centralguard Eric Gordon believes the Suns can be unstoppable on offense and he hopes it becomes a habit every game night.

“We should be unstoppable offensively. This should be the standard. Averaging 120, 130 points. Why not? Score 133 on No. 1 defensive team. This should be standard. That’s how good we can be.”

“We should be unstoppable offensively. This should be the norm. An average of 120, 130 points. Why not ? We scored 133 points against the best defense in the League [les Wolves, ndlr]. This should be the norm. This is how good we can be.”

With three of the most dangerous scorers in the League, Phoenix indeed has good arguments to apply for the status of the country’s leading attack. 130 points per evening is still quite ambitious to imagine. In the history of the NBA, no team has ever reached this points average. The 1982 Denver Nuggets currently hold the record with nearly 126.5 points each night. A little wink from destiny because the best offense in the NBA currently is Indiana, with… 126.5 points per game.
