Unstable Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms and Showers Expected in Belgium

A veiled sun will first be present over the eastern half on Sunday, but the cloudiness will increase rapidly and some showers will come up from France during the morning. Later in the followingnoon and in the evening, the risk of thunderstorms will also become greater, mainly in the west of the country, according to forecasts from the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM).

The maximum will be between 24°C on the coast and in the Hautes Fagnes and 27 to 29°C on the plain. The wind will be weak to moderate from south to southeast. In the evening and during the night, the sky will be changeable and the risk of stormy showers will mainly concern the north of the Sambre-et-Meuse furrow. The minima will vary from 15 to 20°C, under a light to moderate wind from the south to the southwest.

On Monday, the sky will be divided between sunny spells, high clouds and cumuliform clouds. Only a few localized showers may occur during the day. In the evening and the following night, more marked showers and in places accompanied by thunderstorms should arrive from France. The highs will be between 22°C at sea and 28°C in the Campine, with a light to moderate westerly to southwesterly wind. At the end of the followingnoon, the wind will move northwest over the west and northwest of the country and will become weak and variable elsewhere.

Tuesday, the weather will be unstable with more and more showers over the hours. They will also gain in intensity and be accompanied by potentially strong thunderstorms. The maxima will vary between 22°C at sea and 28°C in Campine.

On Wednesday, the cloudiness will be variable with some residual showers inland and a risk of thunderstorms in the south east of the country. The maximum will be between 21°C on the coast and 25 to 27°C on the plain.

On Thursday, new precipitation, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, might mainly develop in the east of the country.
