Unsolved Homicide Case: Jermaine Jones’ Mysterious Death in Bronx (NYC)

Jermaine Jones died in hospital days following he was found with a small stab wound in the hallway of a building in the Bronx (NYC).

The 33-year-old victim was found semiconscious in the 5th floor hallway of a residential building on Shakespeare Ave. near W. 167th St, vecindario Highbridge, with a cut below the chin.

Paramedics who responded to the building on June 22 took Jones to Lincoln Hospital, where he died three days later. An autopsy later determined that he had suffered a fractured skull and other head injuries.but according to his relative his body had no signs of trauma.

Jones’s death has been considered a homicide, but three weeks later no one has been arrested. A niece of the victim, Destiny Henderson, said it appeared that old friends had been taking advantage of her uncle.

“They were stealing it,” he told Daily News Henderson, 23 years old. “He started talking to these people three days before he died. They just reconnected. And then three days later this happens. It’s always been bad news.”

Jones lived in the section Norwood of the Bronx, according to police. “He was probably mugged. He was probably ambushed, but whatever the case, he was bleeding from the brain,” his niece said. “The only weird thing…it didn’t look like anything had happened to it. He had no defense wounds, no cuts, no bruises, no scrapes, no nothing. The only thing she had was the cut under her chin.

In a similar case, in the middle of last month an 18-year-old teenager was arrested on suspicion of killing his neighbor Miguel Molina Rodríguez (22) in revenge For A Fist Fight, leaving a two-year-old baby as an orphan, also in The Bronx.
