London: Tunisia’s Ones Jabiur and Czech Republic’s Marqueta Vandrossova will meet in the Wimbledon women’s singles final.

Marqueta Vandroshova advanced to the Wimbledon final following defeating Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina in the semi-finals on Thursday. Vandrossova also became the first unseeded player to reach the Wimbledon women’s singles final in the Open era. This is the first such incident in 60 years. The last time an unseeded player reached the Wimbledon final was in 1963.

Vandrossova defeated Elina Svitolina in straight sets (6-3, 6-3). This is the player’s second Grand Slam final. Vandrossova is the 2019 French Open runner-up.

Ons Jabiur entered the final by defeating Belarus player Aryana Sabalanka in a three-set battle. The Tunisian came back following losing the first set. This is also Ons Jabiur’s second consecutive Wimbledon final. Score: 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
