Unrest in the supervisory board after the departure of Softbank manager

Barcelona In September the staging was still intact. Telekom boss Timotheus Höttges and Softbank manager Marcelo Claure met on a conference stage in Cologne and publicly sealed their future together with a “high five”.

Höttges had just announced the entry of Softbank, one of the largest technology investors and telecom companies in the world, through a capital increase. Since then, the Japanese have been the second largest shareholder in Deutsche Telekom. In the course of this year Claure should therefore move into the supervisory board of the group.

It is now clear that this plan has failed. According to information from the Handelsblatt, Telekom is already looking for a replacement candidate for Claure together with Softbank. It will be presented in the second half of the year. The designated new chairman of the supervisory board, Post boss Frank Appel, will also be involved in the selection of candidates.
