Unraveling the Tragic Incident: Police Officer’s Account of the Oupeye Incident on August 18

One of the two police officers involved in the events of August 18 and which led to the death of a thirty-year-old in Oupeye, in the province of Liège, was heard on Wednesday by the committee P, the Standing Committee for the Control of Police Services, indicates Thursday the prosecutor’s office of Liège, confirming information from Sudinfo and RTL TVI.

The policeman interviewed on Wednesday is the one that the deceased thirty-something had hit with his quad, following the policeman had told him to stop. According to Sudinfo, the agent delivered a very detailed version of the incident which occurred on August 18, rue Perreau in Oupeye.

He explained that he had intervened with his colleague following the driver of the quad had hit a parked vehicle. They had then got out of their suit to order the man to stop, and the latter had attempted an escape maneuver.

Finding himself in front of the two police officers, he would then have darkened on one of the two agents, who ended up with the quad on him, reports the media.
