For nearly 5 decades, the case of a body found in a river remained a mystery in Canada, which successive investigations were unable to decipher, but the authorities finally reached the truth.
And the British newspaper “The Guardian” reported that little was known regarding a woman whose body was pulled from the “Neschen” River, 144 km west of Montreal on May 3, 1975.

But this matter ended last week, when the Canadian Ontario Police announced, following 47 years, the identification of the woman, and said that she was Jewell Parchman Langford, a businesswoman from the US state of Tennessee.
This breakthrough came following the Canadian authorities used the technology of criminal genetic genealogy, and this is one of the first times that this technology is used in the country.
And not only that, as the authorities found the accused of killing Jewell, who is Rodney Nicholas, an American who lived in Florida, and Canada submitted a request to America to extradite him.
Investigators believe that the victim traveled with the killer to Montreal in April 1975, and remained there in the city, and despite promises she made to keep in touch with her family, she did not do so.
Jewell’s disappearance remained a deep wound in her family, and the victim’s niece says that her grandmother sold everything and used every cent she owned to hire private investigators to find the missing daughter.
The victim’s mother continued to communicate regularly with the FBI, and tried to remind investigators of the case repeatedly so that they would not forget her daughter’s case.
And the mother continued in this way until she passed away from our world, and she was unable to know what happened to her daughter.
