Mystery regarding Japan’s princess!
Crown Princess Kiko (57) has been suffering from an inexplicable illness for weeks and can no longer eat normally. She has been feeling bad since December, Japanese media report, citing the Imperial Court Office. The doctors are at a loss: they don’t know what exactly is wrong with Princess Kiko.

The 57-year-old is troubled by gastrointestinal problems. The doctors were able to rule out any nearby illnesses: tests for corona and flu were negative. Last July, Crown Prince Akishino’s wife (58) fell ill with Corona and had to cancel some events.
Shortly before Christmas, Kiko posed for the official New Year’s photo with her family, Crown Prince Akishino (58), the younger brother of Emperor Naruhito (63), and the children Princess Kako (29) and Prince Hisahito (17).
The eldest daughter Mako (31) married a commoner in 2021 – amid protests from the people – and had to give up her royal title. She lives with her husband in New York and is therefore not in the photo.

Princess Kiko also recently attended various New Year’s celebrations despite her illness. A samurai doctor gave her the green light to participate. But last weekend Princess Kiko’s condition is said to have worsened.
The mother of three will probably not be seen at public appearances in the near future: The Imperial Palace announced that the Crown Princess will make her appearance at further appointments dependent on her health.
