The disgraced Chulpan Khamatova is going through hard times. Now abroad, the celebrity pouring mud at his homeland was out of work.

On February 28, the Riga public was supposed to see the production of “Gogol. Nature Morte”, where Khamatova was announced for one of the main roles. For the sake of this production, the artist even mastered Latvian, but her efforts were in vain.
“The New Riga Theater cancels the play “GOGOL. NATURE MORTE” because it didn’t work this time. Creative failure. In the theater (as in life), this sometimes happens, ”such a message appeared on the morning of February 27 on the social networks of the New Riga Theater (JRT).
Latvian media claim that such a cancellation on the eve of the premiere is an unprecedented event in the history of the New Riga Theatre. Usually problem performances still try to “bring to mind”, postponing the date of the premiere. But here, it seems, everything turned out to be really hopeless.
According to rumors, the troupe had long had doubts that this performance would be viable. Nevertheless, the artistic director of the theater, Alvis Hermanis, hoped to save the situation to the last. After the dress rehearsal, which took place the day before, it became clear that people would not go to “GOGOL. NATURE MORTE” even for the sake of the scandalous Khamatova.
Probably, for Chulpan Nailevna, this cancellation will be painful. Recently, the artist’s income has fallen significantly, in Riga they are not ready to pay her the same fabulous fees as in Russia. Meanwhile, former colleagues of the star are sure that she is ready for anything for the sake of money. Recently, Khamatova was suspected of dishonest use of funds intended to help sick children.
