A recycling plant caught fire in Schattdorf in the canton of Uri. As Alert Suisse announced, the major fire is causing a strong, unpleasant odor and is having a severe impact on traffic. In the meantime, however, the national alarm app of the Federal Office for Civil Protection has given the all-clear. Again “Daily Gazette” citing the SDA news agency, the fire brigade was able to prevent the fire from spreading further.
Information on injuries might not be made yet. The damage to property cannot yet be quantified.
Previously, residents were asked to close their windows and turn off the ventilation. People have been instructed to avoid the affected area and drive around it.
