“At a time when the country is having serious difficulties, when people do not believe in politics, we, the Province and the Municipality, are here working together for the people, inaugurating this type of works,” highlighted the mayor as he headed along with the governor and university authorities the habilitation of the Primary Health Care Room. There, an unprecedented operating scheme will be implemented: the Municipality cedes the building on loan and the house of studies provides professionals and different medical specialties.
Together with Governor Gustavo Valdés, Mayor Eduardo Tassano inaugurated this Thursday the brand new building of the Primary Health Care Room (SAPS) in the Serantes neighborhood, in which an unprecedented joint work in administration and medical care is being launched. which will result in more and better services for residents.
In addition, on the occasion the name “Dr. María Teresa Martín de Civetta ”to the health center, in recognition of an outstanding professional for her contribution to health in the city.
Within this framework, emphasis was also placed on the new management methodology that is implemented in this SAPS. It is that, through framework agreements signed opportunely and also the work agreement initialed during the inaugural act, it was established that the Municipality grants the building on loan and grants the administration and medical attention in the place to the Faculty of Medicine of the University Nacional del Nordeste (UNNE), an institution that, for its part, will provide professionals and different medical specialties to the Chamber.
For this reason, the rector Omar Larroza and the dean of Medicine, Mario Germán Pagno, attended the inauguration on behalf of the UNNE, who during the last time maintained regular contact and permanent work with both the mayor Tassano and the vice mayor, Emilio Lanari (also present at the event).
From this joint work in health, it is possible to provide obstetrics, pediatrics, general medicine, medical clinic and chronic disease control services, among other specialties available to residents of Serantes and also nearby neighborhoods such as Ongay, Irupé, Our Lady of the Assumption and the Quintana, among others.
In addition, the joint work not only contemplates the socio-community aspect, but also technology, taking into account that they will also be able to work with teleconsultations, with a statistical and observatory system.
This was established in meetings held by the municipal authorities and the University, where framework agreements similar to the agreement that was also signed at the inauguration of the brand new building of the Serantes sanitary ward, located by Lieutenant Governor Francisco de Borges Sa between Sweden and Nicaragua.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Public Health of the Province, Ricardo Cardozo; other members of the provincial cabinet; the municipal health secretary, Rafael Corona; municipal officials and UNNE representatives; in addition to provincial and national legislators, councilors, medical personnel and neighbors in general. At the beginning of the ceremony, an inhabitant of the place, Horacio Romero, spoke, who conveyed words of gratitude for the work.
TASSANO: “WE ARE WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE”
On the occasion, Tassano highlighted that, with the opening of the new sanitary room, a demand from the residents of the area is being met. “Together with the current rector of the UNNE, when he was dean of the Faculty of Medicine, we had the opportunity to work concretely and actively in a health center, which is an extension of a university center,” recalled the mayor. “In all this scheme, the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, in its different areas, is increasingly integrating the community with different actions”, he valued.
In this sense, he stressed that “these actions have to do with primary care, which is the latest scheme of world health with which 80 percent of the health problems of the neighbors can be solved.”
In this regard, he thanked Minister Cardozo “for all the work of his health teams, of his CAPS (Primary Health Care Centers), of his hospitals in the interaction for the development of primary care, in this municipal case, that is of all the correntinos. Our SAPS and the peripheral care centers of the Province are in places where it is most needed”, he emphasized.
A JOINT SANITARY SCHEME
In another section of his message, Tassano recalled that “in a team meeting that we held with the governor, we reviewed everything that is done in health in the territory of Corrientes, where there may be difficulties, but no province in northern Argentina has accessibility in health that Corrientes has”.
“This has been strengthened with this joint work that we are doing with Gustavo Valdés and that aims to give people and professionals a more dignified environment for health care: that is an indisputable fact”, he emphasized.
In this sense, he stated that “all these advances also have to do with something we did from the beginning of the administration, which was to work together (Province and Municipality), be with the people, see strategically what the city and the decision to improve the quality of life of the people of Corrientes”.
Then, in the final section of his message, the mayor highlighted the figure of Dr. María Teresa Martín de Civetta, whose name is now carried by the Serantes sanitary room. “She was a great fighter for the health of the people of Corrientes,” she said.
In addition, at the end of his speech, he asserted that “at a time when the country has serious difficulties, at a time when people do not believe in politics, we are here working together, for the people, inaugurating this type of work and carrying forward the city and the province of Corrientes”.
LANARI: “THIS WAY OF WORK IS UNPRECEDENT IN THE REGION”
In his turn, the vice mayor stressed the importance of adding the University and the Faculty of Medicine to the preventive and primary care work that is carried out throughout the city.
“Without a doubt this is a day of great happiness for all Corrientes, we have a renewed delegation and a new SAPS where a historic event for all of us takes place that has to do with the joint work we do with the UNNE and the Faculty of Medicine” Lanari celebrated.
“We are facing a work modality that is unprecedented in the region, now having primary care professionals from the Faculty of Medicine available in this room. The synergy that is being experienced here in Corrientes in terms of public health is very important: Province, Municipality and now adding to the academic part, ”he added in this regard.
Then, the deputy mayor referred to the multiple medical services that the residents of both the Serantes neighborhood and the surrounding areas will have access to: “This Chamber is going to carry out a complete work, in the medical-social and prevention aspects, and a specialized work. Added to this are technological advances, with fiber optics and connection for interconsultations to more complex centers regarding pathologies that are not treated, scheduled consultations and other mechanisms framed in what is called telemedicine ”, he concluded.
LARROZA: “IT’S A DAY TO CELEBRATE”
“For us it is a day to celebrate. This last April 27, the Faculty of Medicine celebrated its 70th anniversary training health professionals, who have been at the forefront of health policies”, the rector of UNNE initially said. Next, he recalled “the time of the pandemic”, regarding which, addressing Governor Valdés and the Minister of Public Health, Ricardo Cardozo, he stressed: “I want to remember and vindicate those who have put all their efforts so that we have working conditions at the height of the circumstances”.
In this context, Larroza highlighted the “synergy in all the actions in which we have been working with the Government of the Province” and in this sense, he gave as an example the recent inauguration of the sports complex on the Deodoro Roca campus, located on Libertad avenue .
“Today we are here, giving the population this new health center, which will attend through a socio-sanitary model. We are going to be close to the neighbors,” said the rector of the house of higher studies. Regarding this, he valued the fact that “the university, through its professionals, gives the possibility that all knowledge and technology are available for not only social development, but also makes the welfare state of this entire community ”.
“I want to thank the mayor and the governor for their trust, who once once more trust the University, and this is the point at which we also place ourselves under the consideration of those who are questioning us today: society. So here we are, ready to work together,” Larroza transmitted.
